I recently purchased a portable air conditioner for my 160 square foot room. The model advertised was ‘Rollicool’, but upon arrival, the box and unit simply read ‘Portable Air Conditioner’. I believe that all similar sized units come from the same factory with different casings per distributor. The unit works well, adequately cooling the room in all but the hottest temperatures above 100F/38C. However, I am skeptical about the advertised claim of cooling to 350 square feet. Like all portable ACs, the hose vent can be a hassle to fiddle with, but this unit is no better or worse than others. I recommend purchasing the 12k BTU model for larger rooms and hotter temperatures. The rear hose attachment is not marked, so I marked it myself to avoid confusion. The remote control is not backlit, so I suggest using it frequently until one’s muscle memory adjusts to the placement of the buttons, especially at night. The control panel on top is poorly placed and easily tapped by accident. The sleep setting turns the fan speed to low and dims the panel lights, while the unit cycles off completely when the desired temperature is reached. The decibel levels are reasonable, and the water drain has two outlets with plugs that can drain into a water jug. Despite the quirks, I am happy with the unit because it effectively cools my room.

However, you do need to vent the heat out, which is simple to do. The unit should be placed about 4 feet away from a window, and while the instructions say not to use a dryer vent tube to extend it, I see no harm in doing so.
