10 Quick Cleaning Tips to Make Your Life Easier
Sometimes life can get messy. Here are 10 quick tips to help you get through it.
- Clean your blinds using a 50-50 mixture of vinegar, water, and an old sock.
Cleaning blinds have traditionally involved using harsh cleaners and kicking enormous amounts of dust into the air while trying not to damage your blinds.
Luckily, it doesn’t have to be this way. To effectively clean your blinds, mix a solution of equal parts vinegar and water and place it into a spray bottle.
Pair with an old sock to effectively capture dust, and voila! Clean blinds without the struggle and pain. It is almost like mopping your blinds!
- Put a plastic bag filled with vinegar around your shower head to get rid of stains.
When your shower head starts growing mold or stains, it can be both an eyesore as well as hazardous for your health. Fortunately, you can clean your shower head by simply tying a bag filled with vinegar around your shower head, and letting it sit overnight.
When you come back in the morning, you’ll have a completely clean shower head.
- Use toothpaste to clean your old sneakers
Taking your sneakers from downtrodden to debonair is easier than it looks.
In order to clean a pair of sneakers, take an old toothbrush and some toothpaste, and scrub vigorously until the dirt and stains come out, and the color returns. Looking fly is as simple as a quick brush.
- Use Vinegar and Baking Soda to clean a burned pan
Start by rinsing open to your pan with water, putting it back on the stove with low heat, and add vinegar, and bring to a boil.
At this point, some of the burned bits should have loosened. Take the pan off the stove and add a tiny amount of baking soda to the mix. Be extremely careful as the pan will fizzle up very quickly. Use a scouring sponge to take off the remaining marks.
- Use coffee filters to clean out TV’S, Monitors, and other screens.
Tired of watching movies and TV shows through a dirty monitor but don’t have any special cleaning cloths available? Simply go into the kitchen, and use a coffee filter to wipe down your monitor and screens. The fibers of the coffee filters help create a streak free clean.
- Dish Soap and Blenders
Cleaning blenders can not only be tiring and difficult, but also dangerous as well. To save yourself time and energy, simply put water and a couple of drops of liquid soap into your blender, and put on HIGH for one minute.
- Rice to get rid of the smell for a Coffee Grinder
Cleaning your coffee grinder can be difficult with tiny nooks and crevices that are difficult to get into. Rather than wasting time trying to force a sponge through the grinder, put some uncooked rice into your grinder to capture all the grit and leftover coffee dust.
- Use a damp rubber glove to pick up pet hair
If you’re having a hard time picking up pet hair from furniture and upholstery using a lint roller, use a rubber glove and wet it before running your hand over areas of pet hair. The static will cause the pet hair will cling to your glove rather than the furniture.
- Use a toothbrush to clean up keyboards.
There can be a lot of nasty things that accumulate under your keyboard as you type. Rather than just letting it sit there, use an old toothbrush to reach under your keys and get out any debris that may be lurking.
- Use Washable cloth diapers to clean counters to save on towels
Though this idea may seem strange, cloth diapers are specifically designed to absorb wetness and debris and are thus a perfect multipurpose cleaning tool. Plus they’re washable, they can help save the environment. Having a couple of cloth diapers around can also save you money on paper towels.
